Lord Sebastian Coe, the man at the centre of delivering the London 2012 Olympics, will formally open a new sports facility in Stamford on November 30.

The chairman of the British Olympic Association and former Olympic gold medallist will open the Stamford Endowed Schools Sport Centre, just off Conduit Road, at a ceremony for invited guests.

The £6.1m sports complex opened for use to its pupils and staff in June.

The facility includes a 25m swimming pool, a 30 station fitness suite, gymnasium with a sprung floor and changing rooms.
