Traffic is slow on the A47 on the Rutland/Leicestershire border after a lorry shed a load of bricks.

The accident happened near Skeffington at about 7.30am this morning (Thursday). The bricks fell off the lorry and on to the road, damaging five cars in the process.

A police spokesman said it was not thought anyone was injured, but the road had come to a standstill as a result of the accident.

Traffic is still slow at the scene.

Police are trying to trace the lorry, which did not stop.
