Loving couple Barry and Joyce dance their way to 50 years
A couple whose eyes first met across the dance floor at Bourne Corn Exchange, danced the night away on that very dance floor 50 years later to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.
Barry and Joyce Clark, from Bourne, were joined by more than 150 family and friends, at their anniversary celebrations held at the Corn Exchange in Bourne on September 4.
“What a fantastic night it was. It was lovely to see everyone, and we all got on that dance floor - just like we did back in the day,” said Barry. “It brought back a lot of good memories.”
The pair, who married on September 25, 1965 at Essendine Church, celebrated their anniversary with loved ones who had played a major part in their lives, from those right at the beginning to their current friends today.
Joyce, 70, who grew up in a very large family in Essendine, invited along her many siblings to enjoy the big day, along with two of her friends from primary school - who she has kept in touch with all of these years.
Barry, 69, who originates from Dyke, just has the one brother, Tony who came along to the event to support his younger brother.
Their son, Stevon, 43, was also there on the day to celebrate with his parents.
The couple who have lived in Bourne since they married, said the secret to a long and happy marriage is getting through the good and the bad times together. “We’ve got through this 50, so here’s to the next,” they said.
