Machine and caravan destroyed in blaze on farmland in Knossington

A JCB and a caravan have been destroyed in a fire in Knossington.

Two fire crews from Melton and one from Oakham were called to the incident on farmland in Braunston Road, just after 2.30pm this afternoon (Friday).

The fire began in the JCB which was parked next to a stable block and caravan. The caravan was destroyed along with the piece of machinery. Firefighters worked to save the stable block.

According to Leicestershire Fire and Rescue, the flames have now been extinguished. Fire crews remain on scene, damping down.
