7 in 10 adults in the East Midlands are motivated to get healthier in 2021 due to Covid-19

New research has found that 8 in ten (82 per cent) adults in the East Midlands have made the active decision to make changes to their lifestyle in 2021, with almost 7 in 10 (68 per cent) saying that they are motivated to make healthier lifestyle changes due to coronavirus.

Compared to last year, over a third of people (38 per cent) feel more motivated to make changes to their life in January.Eating more healthily (38 per cent), losing weight (39 per cent) and exercising more (44 per cent) were at the top of the list of changes, according to the Opinium survey carried out before Christmas.

Evidence shows that being obese significantly increases your chance of being admitted to intensive care with Covid-19 compared to those with a healthy body mass index.
