Man, 59, is rescued from brook after falling from bridge in Glaston

A 56-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after he fell from a bridge into a brook on Seaton Road, Glaston, this morning (Saturday, July 4).

Fire crews from Oakham and Stamford were called to the scene along with a technical rescue crew. Police and paramedics were also requested to attend.

The man, who is believed to have suffered head injuries, was rescued from the brook and treated by paramedics just before 10am. The initial incident was reported to Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service just before 9.20am.

The casualty was taken to Coventry Hospital via air ambulance. His condition wasn’t known at the time of going to press.
