Man arrested on suspicion of immigration offences in Market Deeping

A man has been arrested on suspicion of immigration offences after a lorry was pulled over in Market Deeping today (Friday).

The man, aged in his 30s, has been taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station for questioning after the vehicle was stopped.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “We received a call at 11.03am this morning with reports of suspected illegal immigrants in the back of a lorry on the Paston Parkway (A47), heading towards the A15 at Market Deeping.

“The vehicle was stopped by officers at about 11.15am where they found one person in the back of the lorry.

“A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of immigration offences and his currently en route to Thorpe Wood Police Station.”
