Man charged after two-lorry A1 crash north of Stamford

A man has been charged after a two-lorry crash on the A1.

Vasile Alin Badea, 36, of no fixed address, has been charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously after the collision on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened just before 6.30am, just past the A52 Barrowby slip road, closing the northbound carriageway and causing traffic chaos on the A1 and in Grantham. Traffic backed up south along the A1.

One southbound carriageway was also closed due to a diesel spillage, which was dealt with by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue.

Only minor injuries were reported.

Vasile Alin Badea appeared at Lincoln Magistrates' Court.
