A man has died following a crash between the A606 near Stamford and the B1081 near Great Casterton yesterday afternoon (Saturday, December 12).

The collision happened just after 2pm on the northbound carriageway, north of the Bloody Oaks services.

It involved a black Mercedes and a lorry and the driver of the car, a 52-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver was not injured.

A stretch of the northbound carriageway of the A1 has been closed to enable officers to conduct their enquiries at the scene.

Did you see what happened? Did you see the manner in which either vehicle was being driven prior to the collision?

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable 1761 Pete Davies on 101
