A MAN has died after a serious accident on the A47 between Belton-in-Rutland and East Norton last night.
Two cars and a lorry were involved in the crash which happened just after 10pm.
A man travelling in a Renault Scenic was pronounced dead at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
One of the passengers in the car is in a stable condition at Leicester Royal Infirmary. The condition of another passenger in the car is not yet known.
The driver of a Ford Mondeo which was towing a caravan is in a critical condition at Peterborough City Hospital. A passenger from the Ford is in a critical condition in Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The driver of the lorry was not injured.
Police and fire crews from Uppingham worked throughout the night and the road was cleared at about 7am today.
No arrests have been made.
