Man seriously hurt after crash near Great Casterton

A man was taken to hospital with multiple serious injuries after the car he was driving came off the road and ended up in a ditch.

The accident happened on the B1081 near the Bloody Oaks service station at about 5.40pm on yesterday (Tuesday, October 6). A fire crew, road and air ambulances were called to help the driver, a man in his 50s. He was anaesthetised and taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by road, where he remained in a serious condition at the time of going to press.

The road was closed while he was treated and the vehicle was recovered.
