Manchester United star gets three points from Peterborough court and fine for A1 speeding
A Manchester United and England star has been given three points and a fine by a Peterborough court today, Wednesday January 6.
Ashley Young (30) of Altrincham, Cheshire, was listed to appear at Peterborough Magistrates Court this morning, but the case was heard this afternoon after the footballer failed to appear.
Young was caught driving at 70mph on the A1 northbound near Buckden in Cambridgeshire where the speed limit is 60mph.
He was caught speeding in his Range Rover on July 7 2015.
He was fined £220 and given three points on his driving licence. He was also told to pay £85 costs and £22 surcharge. The case was proven in Young’s absence.
Young has appeared for England 30 times, scoring seven goals, and has made 20 appearances for his club side this season
