A celebration of British engineering is being hosted by a Market Deeping-based manufacturer.

Advanced Handling, of Northfields Industrial Estate, is inviting local manufacturers and businesses to visit the factory during a two day celebration.

The event will feature a guest speaker from the Bloodhound SSC Project, which is a venture to build a supersonic land vehicle to reach 1,000mph and achieve a new world land speed record. The vehicle is expected to debut in November.

As sponsors of the pioneering adventure to break the world land speed record, Advanced Handling has supplied the team with materials handling equipment to lift and move multiple pieces of highly valuable equipment.

The open days will take place on July 8 and July 9. Each day’s event starts at 10.30am.

Advanced Handling has supplied solutions for a number of locally-based businesses including Cummins Generator Technologies in Stamford, Warners Group, Bourne Produce in Bourne, and Hotel Chocolat in Huntingdon.

Each piece is designed by the firm’s technical engineers and manufactured and assembled in Market Deeping.

A spokesman said: “Our solutions are in use across aerospace, automotive and railway manufacturers, confectionery and food and drink manufacturers, packaging manufacturers, healthcare, and retail.”

Visitors must book in advance by calling 01778 345365 or e-mail marketing@advancedhandling.co.uk
