Masked raiders steal safe from Normanton Park Hotel

Three masked men broke into a hotel before stealing a safe full of money.

Police confirmed that a raid had taken place at Normanton Park Hotel, on the shores of Rutland Water, at about 5am this morning (Friday).

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to premises in the Normanton Park Road area of Rutland at 5am this morning following reports of a burglary.

“Three masked men had entered and threatened a man before leaving the premises with a safe containing a quantity of money.

“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are in the early stages.”
