Mayor of Stamford Maxine Couch has died after an illness




The Mayor of Stamford, Maxine Couch, died at Peterborough City Hospital yesterday afternoon (Thursday, June 25) following an illness.

Coun Couch was made mayor during lockdown and became the first to be sworn in over live video link in May.

She was a well-respected Conservative town councillor, who had also stood to represent Stamford on South Kesteven District Council.
