An annual coffee morning which raises thousands of pounds for a cancer charity each year is being held in Bourne for the 30th time on November 28.
Dr Michael McGregor and his wife Margaret will hold the event at the Bourne Corn Exchange from 10am to 1pm.
The event raises money for Spalding and Bourne branch of the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Fund. The event is the branch’s biggest single fundraiser.
The couple, from Maple Gardens, Bourne, began organising the coffee mornings in 1983 following the death of their son, John. The event began in their own home before moving to bigger venues as support for the event grew.
Last year the event raised almost £4,000 for the charity.
Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research works to improve the lives of patients with all types of blood cancer, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
Admission to the coffee morning is £1 which includes a coffee and mince pie.
