Residents were invited to see what effect upgrades to CCTV systems in Oakham would have on their security.

Rutland County Council held a demonstration of the new equipment on Monday, October 12, following complaints about the size of the new masts, particularly in Princess Avenue.

Turnout was low but the council hopes to continue talking to residents.

A spokesman said: “Further consultation will now take place with Princess Avenue residents and Oakham Town Council before a final decision is made on the future of the column.”
