Mini and lorry crash on A606 near Barnsdale Lodge

A woman was airlifted to hospital after the Mini she was driving was involved in a collision with a lorry.

The crash happened on the A606 between Oakham and Whitwell and near to Barnsdale Lodge just after 3pm on Friday.

Police, fire, ambulance and an air ambulance were called to the scene.

The female driver of the Mini was airlifted to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with a head injury. Her condition was described as stable and not life-threatening.

Another passenger in the Mini was also taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in an ambulance and their condition was also described as stable.

A third passenger and the driver of the lorry were taken to Peterborough City Hospital and were described by police as “walking wounded”.

The road was cleared by 5pm.
