Mini police monitor speeding in Stamford

Mini police officers from a Stamford school carried out their own speed checks on Wednesday morning.

A group of five pupils from Years 5 and 6 at St George’s Primary School went out onto Kesteven Road with Stamford PCSO Natalie Elliot to encourage drivers to stick to the 20mph advisory speed limit near to their school.

The pupils held up smiley faces to those abiding by the limit and one driver who was clocked doing 32 miles per hour, received words of advice from one of the young officers.

They’ve also been clamping down on drivers parking on the zig-zag lines outside the school entrance, as part of the initiative.
