Empingham Primary School opens new school library

A new school library has been officially opened.

Artist Debi Muttett has painted a mural artwork onto the windows of the once rundown library at Empingham Primary School.

She was there for the opening to discuss what she did and share her reading experience when she was a child.

She also revealed that she has hidden her signature somewhere in the huge piece which has got the children desperate to find it!

With the new library, an initiative called library time has been introduced to provide children with an environment outside of their classroom to learn, share games and of course, enjoy a good book.

The new shelves are organised in rainbow formation and the furniture is fun and comfortable.

Empingham Parents and Friends Association raised funds to help the school buy the resources needed and the children and staff are all elated with the final result.
