A music agency is preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary by hosting a summer party in the grounds of Oakham Castle.
DG Music has been linking up event organisers with their dream musicians for a decade from its base in Gaol Street.
The business was launched by former music teacher David Graham, who was often asked to help friends with their wedding plans alongside his day job at Oakham School.
In 2004 he made the decision to turn it into a business and DG Music was born. It now has more than 400 artists on the books and a number of exclusive signings.
David said: “I always get a buzz watching people play high quality live music. When I see someone perform I want to see their musicianship and craftsmanship. I never tire of seeing someone really good.”
He is a professional musician who currently performs with Funk Soul Brother and The Jazz Rats. He is a wedding pianist and was also saxophonist, guitarist and pianist with the 70s pop group Showaddywaddy from 2009-2011.
One of the company’s biggest success stories is The Houndogs. The Lincolnshire-based band is managed exclusively by DG Music and has become widely recognised as one of the UK’s top rockabilly bands. The firms acts will perform at Oakham Castle on June 29,from 4pm - 9.30pm. Tickets will go on sale soon.
