Coronavirus: Stamford Endowed Schools cancels musical production of Legally Blonde

A school has cancelled its musical production of Legally Blonde following advice issued about coronavirus.

Stamford Endowed Schools' 2020 senior musical was set to be performed for five nights from today (Tuesday, March 17) until Saturday (March 21).

However, due to yesterday's press conference with Boris Johnson advising against 'non-essential social contact' the school decided to cancel the production.

This news was announced while pupils were taking part in the full dress rehearsal, which was watched by a small number of staff and parents.

Director of development and external relations at Stamford Endowed Schools, Hannah Hamilton, said: "It's absolutely devastating for us as a school community."

The production, which took months to prepare for, will not be going ahead at a later date.
