A new zoo featuring scaly lizards, colourful birds and creepy crawlies has opened today (Thursday).

Bugtopia at Rutland Water’s Sykes Lane shore, was due to open Saturday but owners Joe Mordawska and Natalie Matts had to unfortunately put back the opening as the zoo wasn’t quite ready.

They apologised to anyone disappointed by this decision on their Facebook page and now look forward to welcoming people, to learn about the value of conservation.

Admission to Bugtopia is £7. It will be open 10am to 5pm, seven days a week.
