Patients being cared for on the John Van Geest ward at Stamford Hospital are now able to choose from a new menu thanks to the introduction of a specialist kitchen on the ward.

Previously, meals were cooked in another part of the hospital and delivered to the ward, and the range of dishes on offer was more limited. Now, patients can choose from a new menu, and the warm and fresh food is delivered direct to their bedsides.

Matron Shaun Fretter said: “To have this new kitchen on the ward and a wider menu on offer to our patients is a real bonus.”
