A dinner was held to celebrate St George’s Day.
The 35th annual dinner was held on Tuesday by the Rutland Society of St George at Greetham Valley Hotel, Golf and Conference Centre.
In the presence of 109 members Keith Tyers was inaugurated as president for the year by the outgoing president Alan Kelly.
An excellent dinner was followed with readings by Andrew Brown, Peter Gray and Dennis Whight with John Hackett providing the linkage.
Roger Rowell accompanied the community singing on the piano.
Members were also shown a framed response from Buckingham Palace to the society’s message of congratulations to the Queen on her diamond jubilee.
John Hackett said overall it was a fantastic event.
