A NEW scheme to make pubs the hub of their communities will be launched on Tuesday.
The Local Community Services Champions project encourages licensees to offer more to people, by providing additional community services and facilities that could help them become more sustainable and benefit rural suppliers too.
It will be launched in Lincolnshire at the EPIC Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground on Tuesday.
Ideas from successful projects in similar locations are already rolling in.
A pub in village that no longer has a post office could provide some services like collecting benefits and pension payments and expand to supply produce from nearby farmers.
