New technology to save police force time

Motorola Solutions are set to announce a UK first agreement with Lincolnshire Police to provide a cloud based control rooms solution and computer aided dispatch.

The 10 year contract to deliver Control Room Solutions (CRS) is the first cloud-based system of its kind used by a UK Police force.

One of the key technological challenges that police forces are currently facing is the exponential increase in data that they have to process, store and analyse.

More than 90 per cent of the world’s data was generated in the last year, and data demands will continue to intensify in the coming years.

On the front line, this means that dispatchers and police officers have the time consuming responsibility of pulling data from multiple legacy systems.

The Motorola Solutions CRS solution will enable Lincolnshire police officers can access all of their data seamlessly, over one solution wherever they are.

Lincolnshire Police will be fully future-ready with the solution's integrated voice, data and multimedia capabilities.

The force has been successfully using Pronto, a replacement for the police officer’s note book, saving officers on average one hour per shift, thanks to the reduction in yo-yo policing – officers going back and forth from attending incidents and coming back to the office to do paperwork and administrative tasks.

The CRS will help save the police force save more time, allowing more resource to be directed to front-line policing.
