New market traders have pitched up on Grantham and Stamford markets for just £10 as part of Love Your Local Markets fortnight.

Among those to take advantage of the deal were the Teaspoon Tea Company, of Grantham, who trialled a stall in the town’s market on May 16.

Proprietor Lance Merryweather, who is a regular trader at Stamford market, said sales had been strong at his new location in Grantham.

The initiative saw up to 10 stalls made available to new traders at the special rate on each of the market days between May 14 and 23.

SKDC’s business manager for Venues and Facilities Paul Stokes said: “We’re pleased businesses have again embraced this fantastic offer. Teaspoon Tea’s good sales at Saturday’s market highlights what can happen when products or services are taken to a new client base and we’re pleased they had a successful day’s trading.”
