Young pupils from Ryhall Academy participated in tree planting to celebrate the 50th year of the opening of the school on its present site.

The cherry trees are part of a wider community fruit tree planting project, supported by the Ryhall Parish Council and Meadows Playing Field Committee.

Allison Glover, representative of the Ryhall Community Orchard Group, said: “With the school’s support and the hard digging skills of the children, we successfully planted 6 cherry trees on Ryhall Playing Fields that will offer lots of lovely fruit for future generations in Ryhall.”
