Four people who were injured after a serious road collision in Somerby at the weekend remain in hospital.

Police were called to the A606 Oakham Road at Somerby at 10.45pm on Friday after a collision involving two cars, a blue Ford Mondeo and a black Jaguar Estate.

The drivers of the vehicles, both men, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Three women and a man were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

One of the women, who was a passenger in the Jaguar, is in a critical but stable condition, and the other three injured people are reported to be stable.

The collision took place about 150 metres to the east of Pickwell Road and Leicestershire police would like to speak to anyone who saw either of the vehicles being driven beforehand or the collision itself.

Anyone with information about the incident are asked to contact DC 1288 Paul Bingham on 101, quoting incident 760 of April 8, if they have not already done so.
