Nick Begy (Con) has been elected uncontested as Rutland County Councillor for Greetham ward - the seat previously held by his father and council leader Roger.

Roger Begy held the seat until his death in February. He was 72 and died after a short battle with cancer. Roger had been leader of the council since 2003 and was held in high regard by all who came into contact with him.

Upon taking office Nick Begy will serve as a councillor until the next round of normal elections in 2019.
