One of the biggest names in the world of action sports is to bring a stunning outdoor show to Peterborough in the summer.

Peterborough Arena is to stage the high-octane, thrills and spills extravaganza served up by the daredevils from Nitro Circus - think Cirque du Soleil with engines and attitude - within the speedway track at the East of England Showground.

Seventeen-time X Games medalist Travis Pastrana’s Nitro Circus, which rounded off a major UK indoor arena tour at the 02 Arena in London yesterday, will return with its outdoor show of death-defying stunts, amazing tricks and unbelievable world firsts in the city on July 2.

Some of the greatest action sports stars on the planet will perform the most incredible choreographed riding routines ever in freestyle motocross (FMX), BMX, skate and much more.

Highlights include the explosive “Nitro Bomb” featuring all riders flipping simultaneously. Plus, during FMX trains, riders will slice through the air wheel-to-wheel, mere inches apart.

Nitro’s stars will also brave the (in)famous 40-foot Giganta ramp, which will launch a host of ridiculous contraptions like trikes, a penny farthing, a lounge chair, a bathtub and much more.

A spokesman for Peterborough Arena said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to bring an event that has sold out huge stadiums across the globe to Peterborough Arena. “Hotels, restaurants, bars and practically every other business in Peterborough will benefit from having Nitro Circus Live in town!”
