Rutland MP's call for second GP surgery in Oakham is not so far successful

More news, no ads

There are ‘no agreed plans’ for a second GP surgery in Oakham despite it being an election campaign aim for Rutland MP Alicia Kearns.

Calls for additional primary care provision in the town have been made by residents over several years and Mrs Kearns (Con) made it one of her election pledges when people went to the polls in December 2019.

She also campaigned for a second surgery in Melton Mowbray and now Melton Borough Council says it is exploring the possibility of creating a new health and leisure park in the town. But plans for Rutland have not kept pace.
