THE main post office in Stamford is not closing despite the building being up for sale.
Renbridge Land, which owns the building leased by the Post Office in All Saints Street and the former sorting office in Red Lion Square, is selling the buildings as an investment opportunity. But Renbridge Land director Jeff Wilson says the post office in Stamford will continue running on its lease as normal and The Cosy Club, a restaurant which has taken on the sorting office, is also still due to open in late October.
Mr Wilson said: “When we bought the land, we didn’t see it as a long-term plan. We just wanted to improve the building and add value to the land.
“There is a lease that exists with both the Post Office and The Cosy Club and they will remain in place.”
Contractors are due to start work on The Cosy Club next week.
Operations director at The Cosy Club Jake Bishop said: “Everything is going to plan as far as The Cosy Club is concerned.”
