Coronavirus: Nurse thanks Tesco in Bourne after she was finally able to shop for her family and elderly parents

A nurse has thanked a supermarket for giving NHS staff the opportunity to shop.

Nurse Lisa Sharp had been getting up at 6am in an attempt to shop for her family of five and her elderly parents before going to work.

After days of empty shelves, she was finally able to get what she needed in Tesco in South Road, Bourne, yesterday (Sunday, March 23) after the supermarket chain was one to offer special shopping hours for NHS workers and elderly and vulnerable patients. She also received a bouquet from store staff.

She said: "This was the first day I was able to get most things my family needed. It was a relief, was a little emotional and it was such a kind gesture, I can’t thank Tesco enough."
