The Rocking Horse Nursery in Stamford raises money for the Australian bushfires

A nursery held an Australia week to raise funds for those affected by bushfires.

Staff and parents at The Rocking Horse Nursery in Stamford raised £68.46 after a week of animal and Australia-themed activities.

Of the money, £30 was given to Amy Dallywaters - whose family live in one of the Australian regions affected by bushfires - to raise money for facemasks that will help to protect the most vulnerable from smoke inhalation.

The remaining amount was rounded up to £40 and donated to the World Wildlife Fund which helps to support the care and protection of koalas in Australia.

Angela Spriggs, nursery owner, said: “It was great to raise money for two good causes while having a fun week here at The Rocking Horse Nursery.”
