Oakham Police probe spate of thefts from motor vehicles

Police in Oakham are investigating a spate of thefts from motor vehicles that took place at the weekend.

PC Joe Lloyd of Oakham Police said that 10 vehicles had been targeted on Saturday night (January 12).

"From what I can tell most vehicles have been locked, secured and some type of bypass equipment used to gain entry, however there were a few that were left insecure," he said.

"In total there were 10 separate vehicles targeted, all from roads off and including Welland Way, Oakham.

"This is a timely reminder to take valuables out of the vehicles and ensure that they are locked and secured."

In a separate video message posted on Twitter, PC Lloyd said he was following "a few lines" of enquiry that included viewing available CCTV footage.
