Retired publican Charles Jenkins died at Grantham Hospital.

Son of Mr and Mrs Charles Jenkins, he was born at Manton and was educated at Hambleton and Oakham Central Schools.

He started his career in the motor trade, then spent four years in the Royal Navy.

On demobilisation he 
went back to the motor trade, and eventually worked for Lord and Lady Gainsborough at Exton Hall.

He then became landlord of the Cuckoo Inn at Wing, where he spent 17 happy years, retiring in 1990 to Whissendine.

Bereaved are his widow, Molly, son Graham, daughter in law Sheena, son Andrew, step son and daughter in law Michael and Margaret Butcher, step daughter Janet and son in law John Jarjinsky, granddaughters Jemma and Carly, step grandson Russell Butcher and step granddaughter Nicola.

The Rev Janet Tibly officated at the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium.

Family mourners included: Molly Jenkins (widow), Graham and Sheena Jenkins, Michael and Margaret Butcher, John and Janet Jarjinsky, Gemma, Carly.
