Henry Ferguson

THE funeral service for retired maintenance engineer, Henry Ferguson, of Braunston Road, Oakham, took place at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Oakham, Father Stephen Dye officiated, assisted by Father Tom McGovern and Father Anthony Franey.

Mr Ferguson died at the Royal Infirmary Hospital, Leicester, aged 70.

Son of Sarah and Charles Ferguson he was educated at Municipal Technical School, Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland.

He served with the RAF from 1959 - 1968 as a senior aircraft technician. He then worked for Markon Electrical Engineering before becoming a civil servant for the Ministry of Defence as a maintenance engineer, until his retirement.

A member of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes from 1962 - 2012, his other interests included running, swimming, basketball, photography, camping and caravanning and St Joseph’s Church, Oakham.

He leaves his widow Susan, daughter Anna, son Mark and grandchildren, Liam, Sam, Isaac, Dylan and Donovan.
