Leslie Fowler

THE funeral service for Leslie Fowler, of Hazeland Steading, Morton, took place at St John the Baptist Church, Morton, the Rev David Creasey officiated and Eileen Palmer was organist. Cremation at Marholm followed.

Mr Fowler died at his home aged 63.

Son of Edward and Georgina Fowler, he was educated at Rippingale and Morton Primary Schools, and Bourne Secondary School. On leaving school he became an agricultural worker for Dolby and Geoff Hyde and worked there until he retired in 1999. In 2000 he set up his own very successful business as a general maintenance worker.

He was a member of the Five Bells crib team and Bourne and Stamford Bridge Clubs. He enjoyed metal detecting and was a member of Lincs Search Society and Oxford Blues Metal Detecting Club, and was also a member of Edenham and District Farmers’ Discussion Group.

He loved holidays, particularly cruises and also watching Formula 1 racing with his wife Sue, who he had been married to since 1970.
