A young woman has taken the title of Miss Lincolnshire and will compete to be crowned Miss England next month.
Olivia Landin, 21, of Charter Avenue, Market Deeping, won the Miss Lincolnshire title at a final held in Lincoln last week.
Olivia, who works in logistics at Perkins Engines in Peterborough, battled it out against nine other finalists for the title.
During the competition, there was a dance and a sportswear round. The competitors also had to choose an outfit themselves and explain why they had chosen that outfit, for which Olivia chose to wear her prom dress and explained that it reminded her of friends who she was close to.
She said: “I had done a little bit of modelling so when I saw it online, I thought I’d like to apply.
“I was really surprised to get to the final.
“Everyone there was so nice and I just enjoyed making friends and talking to different people.
“I wasn’t expecting to win at all so I was really shocked but it was a nice surprise.
“It was a great night overall and a really good experience.”
She said she hoped to use her new title to help charities and support community projects.
Olivia is now preparing for the Miss England final, which will be held in Torquay on June 15 and 16.
Other contestants in the Miss Lincolnshire competition, who missed out, included Katherine Blake from Market Deeping and Kat Harris from Stamford.
