One man taken to hospital after three car crash on A1

An elderly man was taken to hospital after a three car crash on the A1 at Water Newton.

The crash happened at about 1.30pm today (Monday) and involved a red Volkswagen Golf GTI, a blue Ford Focus and a black Volvo S60.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said the East of England Ambulance service had been called, but it is not thought anyone suffered serious injuries in the incident.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Two people involved did not require treatment. One elderly gentleman has been taken to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment, but his condition is not thought to be serious.”

The road was cleared by about 3pm.
