One-way system for Oakham traffic put on hold
A one-way system aimed at keeping shoppers safe will only be brought in if 'absolutely necessary'.
The measure was proposed as part of Oakham Town Council and Rutland County Council vision of widening pedestrian areas in Oakham town centre should they become busy with people queuing in socially distant lines.
Many of the town's shops reopened to customers on Monday, but the streets were not packed with people and the one-way system for vehicles has not yet been needed.
