Open gardens in Morcott

Eight gardens in Morcott will be open on Sunday, June 9, from 1pm to 5.30pm.

Four of the gardens will be opening for the first time, while others have evolved since the village’s last open gardens event three years ago.

“We are delighted to have four gardens that have never been seen before. Between them there is lots of variety, from a formal parterre to a collection of carnivorous plants,” says organiser and churchwarden Jane Williams.

Homemade teas will be available in the village hall from 1.30pm. There will also be stalls selling plants, pre-loved gardening books, pots and gardenalia.

The Grade 1 listed St Mary the Virgin Church will be open for visitors and funds raised from the event will go towards its maintenance.

Visiting all the gardens costs £5 per adult and free for accompanied children under 16 years. Maps available at the village hall and gardens one and eight.
