Mandy Delaine-Smith, chairman of the charity that keeps the pool going, said: “We are looking forward to opening.

“I’m thrilled and amazed at the number of volunteers that have come to help us.”

About 25 people have helped out this year.

The charity tries to keep volunteers as a ‘family’ and they have the option to help during summer.

Work has not finished and the organisation isstill looking for volunteers to help on Saturdays until the pool opens.

Admission prices will have to rise this year due to the rising cost of energy, and Mandy hopes people will continue to support the pool.

It will open on May 28 from 10.30am for the season.
