The owners of plots of overgrown land in Stamford has not cleared them, despite a council warning to do so.

South Kesteven District Council has given a further warning to Periathamni Selva Kumar about the plots off Casterton Road and Rockingham Road. Mr Kumar was given until Tuesday to clear the plots, which were bought from developer Jelson Homes at auction last summer.

A council spokesman said: “We have contacted the owner of the land again and made him aware of his responsibilities and the need for a speedy response for the benefit of the community.

“His acceptance to make progress and cut back the vegetation as originally agreed should bring about a resolution very shortly without the need for any further action.”

Angry residents have put up large signs calling for the plots to be cleared.
