Rutland painter Lucy Cade, from Ketton, makes Jackson's Painting Prize shortlist from almost 9,000 entries

A painter has received a huge morale boost after a piece of her work was shortlisted for a national art prize.

Lucy Cade, from Ketton, was among a 42-strong shortlist for the Jackson’s Painting Prize 2022, whittled down from more than 8,900 entries.

The judging panel was made up of leading lights within the art world who put Lucy's oil painting entry, 'Figure with a Sparkler', through in the portrait award category.
