Homes in Deeping St Nicholas are soon to receive a copy of a new Parish Plan, with up to 1,000 being delivered across the village.

The 12-page document is the result of work put in by villagers and parish councillors over the last 18 months.

It includes an 11-point “Action Plan”, including support for “high-quality, sustainable and mixed development that provides employment and housing to meet local needs”.

Other points in the plan call for improved road safety, reductions in crime and the reopening of Littleworth Rail Station.

In his introduction to the plan, parish council chairman, Coun William Rodwell, said: “This has needed many of those prepared to give up their time to attend meetings to develop ideas and refine suggestions.

“It has also relied on the talents, efforts and drive of a small steering group to keep the process moving forward over the last 18 months.”
