Police upped their patrols in the area after receiving a tip-off that a national hare coursing competition could be taking place.

It was thought the Fir Cup, which is worth thousands of pounds to the winner, could be happening on January 9 in Lincolnshire.

But police received limited reports of hare coursing on that day.
