It is estimated that at one time at least one hundred and fifty people were present.

The celebrations commenced with congregational singing accompanied by the Salvation Army Community Band, and prayers and gospel news from the Ministers involved.

During the afternoon there was face painting for the children, puppet shows, and a visit from Patch the mascot of The Salvation Army’s children paper Kid’s Alive who distributed free copies to the children.

And of course there was the barbecue with free food and drinks donated by Tesco in South Road, Bourne and others.
